Chapel Project

Pinehill Baptist Retreat will soon begin to take on a second building project.  We are pleased that a Chapel, at Pinehill, should soon become a reality.  This project is in the very early stages.  The building will be 50ft by 90 ft with a brick front and brick about 32 inches up each side.  We will have restroom facilities and a pulpit area in the front.  We have not secured the architectural drawing at this time, but hope to have them  by the completion our new boys dorm.

We do not have all the funding for this project and will begin trying to raise the necessary funds soon.

This project will allow us to honor one of our former directors, Coach “Bull” Lee. Coach Lee’s family has graciously allowed the Retreat to name our Chapel after him.  He and his family served 17 years at Pinehill.  We are thankful to have the privilege to honor him in this way.  We will be putting out more information on this project in the near future.

From the Director

It has been busy since Camp ended.  The Retreat has been used by several groups.  One of the groups were here on a mission in the McColl

area distributing food, clothing, and toys for Christmas that their churches had collected.

The Campers on Mission of SC also came and took on many projects that have improved our facilities.  We are so thankful for their hard work.

We have also replaced the carpet in both sides of the yellow (5&6) cabin.  It made a tremendous difference in this dorm.

The largest of our projects is about to get underway.  Hopefully, before February we will begin building a new dorm for our boys to use this summer.  The Architect is putting the final touches on the drawing and we will then be able to get the permits and begin the construction.  I am excited to see this project get started.  The best part is that we are not going to have to do any fundraising for this new building.  We should have enough from a donation from one of our Associational churches and some funds we were able to secure from the sale of a piece property in Latta.  We will let you know more on this soon.

Thank you for all your prayers and financial support.
